Abdul?

“Abdul?” is a conceptual project aiming to reevaluate the Arab and Muslim experience in America. After finding out that Steve Jobs's birthname was Abdul Latif Jandali,I immediately began to imagine a world where Abdul existed, rather than Steve.

People listened to Steve, but would people have even heard of Abdul? What would happen if Abdul Latif Jandali tried to sell the world an iPhone in Post-9/11 America?

THIS IS A CONCEPTUAL PROJECT. ALL ART CREATED & COPYRIGHTED BY LAMBCHOP DESIGN.

Hand painted construction paper apples used to animate the Apple animation above.

process

The visuals are a cerebral representation of culture, materials, and dimensions. The backgrounds were hand painted and paired with collage elements.

The typography used was inspired by 1990s Apple advertisements. Arabic calligraphy was used to design the architecture of this piece.
